Bill Vass Joins Zafesoft Advisory Board

Bill Vass is one of the smartest/sharpest minds I know. He is an incredible thinker with a deep understanding of human nature, physics, electronics, construction, art, philosophy, history and business. He is also one of the smartest technologists I know. When Bill decides to associate himself with something we should all take note.

With that context in mind, Bill's joining of the ZafeSoft advisory board is cause for us all to focus on the potential of this firm.

For more see the following press release:

SAN JOSE, CA, April 01, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ — William Vass, the former President and COO of Sun Microsystems Federal, Inc (a subsidiary of Sun Microsystems) has just joined Zafesoft Advisory Board. Most recently, Vass was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Sun Microsystems Federal, a $1.5 billion subsidiary of Sun Microsystems that focused on helping government organizations solve their unique challenges in web scale, high performance, and cloud computing. While working for board chairman Scott McNealy, Vass led Sun Federal's deployment of some of the largest information systems in the world, serving civilian, military and intelligence organizations throughout the federal government. Prior to being Sun's CIO, Vass was Vice President and Chief Security Officer for Sun's IT department, where he was responsible for strategic planning and architecture design for all aspects of Sun's IT, including security, business systems, hardware and software technology. As Vice President of IT Operations, Vass worked to provide integrated IT support for the company.

"We are very happy to have Bill joining our advisory board. Content security has far reaching impact and requirements in the government, both federal and state as well as in defense and intelligence," said Sandeep Tiwari, CEO of Zafesoft, as he welcomed Bill to the Advisory Board. "Bill's experience and strengths in understanding the large scale needs of the Federal space and its functioning are invaluable in channeling our functions to great mutual benefit." In addition Bill Vass has served on a number of advisory boards of startups focused on cloud computing, virtualization, and cyber security, as well as on a number of boards advising the federal government on technology.

"We first seriously looked at the Zafesoft technology at Sun, and were immediately impressed with its security capability and ease of use," said Bill. "Its scope and impact on information security is far reaching, I am certain that other technologies will copy this approach in the future, and will become a necessary and accepted part of working with sensitive information in the government and private sector."
